In Auschwitz, Grandfather was given the number 1515.
In 1515, a rhinoceros was shipped from India round the Cape of Good Hope to Portugal.
This film explores the nexus of these numeric events and the axis of cruelty which runs through them.
It is a rumination on a fellow creature caught in the twists and tangles of fate to land here on this hard ground, in this harsh noise.
1515, a number, a year, a series of steps back and forth, day in, day out.
And the ancestors, somewhere in the background, their overlapping, interweaving stories.
